Our team is available to answer questions about how your information is collected, used, and protected.
Unity Drive ("Unity Drive," "we," "us," or "our") is a driver-owned transportation company serving King, Snohomish, and Pierce Counties in the Seattle metropolitan area. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from riders who book pre-arranged and non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) rides through our platform, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.
Note: This Privacy Policy is presented here in its current draft form for the purposes of this design preview. Final legal language will be confirmed following review by Unity Drive's outside counsel prior to public launch.
We collect only the information necessary to schedule your ride, confirm your identity, dispatch a driver-owner, and process payment. This includes:
Name, phone number, email address, pickup and drop-off addresses, appointment or flight details, and any accessibility or mobility notes you provide when scheduling a ride (for example, a request for a wheelchair-accessible vehicle).
Mandatory Disclosure: To provide safe and accurate transportation, our dispatch and driver-facing apps collect GPS location data during an active, scheduled ride. This includes pickup location confirmation, real-time route tracking between pickup and drop-off, and trip-completion location data. Location data is used solely for dispatch accuracy, route verification, driver-owner safety, and trip records, and is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes and applicable recordkeeping requirements. Location tracking is not active outside the window of a scheduled ride.
When you provide a credit card, debit card, or other payment method, that information is collected and processed by our payment processor, Stripe. Unity Drive does not store full card numbers on our own servers. In short:
All online and in-app payments are handled through Stripe, a payment processor certified as a PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) Level 1 Service Provider — the highest level of certification available in the payments industry. Card numbers, expiration dates, and security codes are transmitted directly to Stripe over encrypted connections and are never stored in plain text on Unity Drive's own systems. Unity Drive staff and driver-owners do not have access to full payment card numbers.
We use the information described above to schedule and dispatch rides, match you with an available driver-owner and appropriately equipped vehicle (including wheelchair-accessible NEMT vehicles), process payment for completed trips, communicate ride confirmations and updates, respond to customer support requests, and maintain records required for insurance, safety, and regulatory compliance in Washington State.
Depending on your state of residence, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information, including rights recognized under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as a matter of company-wide practice, and rights under Washington's My Health My Data Act and other applicable Washington State privacy laws. These rights may include:
You may request a summary of the categories of personal information Unity Drive has collected about you and the purposes for which it has been used.
You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to limited exceptions such as records we are legally required to retain (for example, trip and billing records for tax or insurance purposes).
Unity Drive does not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in this regard — see Section 5 below.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the sidebar or on our Contact page. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Unity Drive never sells, rents, or otherwise discloses your personal information to third-party data brokers. Limited information is shared only where necessary to operate the service — for example, with Stripe to process payments, with the assigned driver-owner to complete your ride, or with medical facilities and referring case managers when you have requested NEMT coordination for a scheduled appointment. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of riders and driver-owners.
